Isaiah Washington has been fired! There will be no more of the amazing Dr. Burke on Grey's Anatomy. Well, I was already over it with the terrible season finale but this just seals the deal for me. While I did not agree with the actions of Washington, he has apologized and tried to make amends. Is there no forgiveness? [People][pic]
well, to be fair, he wasn't *fired*. His contract just wasn't renewed. Of course, I don't agree with what he said or how he initially handled the situation that transpired after he said it, but he did seem to make amends later on. Then again, there were also allegations that he was a diva on the set and that he was physically aggressive towards other cast members. I'm guessing that all of those things combined led to no contract renewal. I can't say I'm too upset--I never really liked Dr. Burke.
Also, I guess I'm not too difficult of a consumer to please. While I didn't think that the finale this year was spectacular, I didn't think it was terrible. I'll blame this lapse of judgement on the fact that pretty much all of the other tv I watch is Baby Einstein, so Grey's Anatomy seems to be phenomenal in comparison. :)
I have never watched an episode of Grey's Anatomy, and I really don't plan on watching it...however, Isaiah Washington, just like Don Imus, has to face the consequences of saying things he shouldn't, being aggressive, and being, from what I understand, a jerk at the workplace. I have heard he was a great character on the show, and the show may hurt for letting him go...but sometimes that's what has to happen. He can't have a license to treat people like crap, and then, when there is public outcry, go to "rehab" and make some commercials to make it right.

I so agree. I loved Greys. Why try to fix something when it is not broken. Last year was their best-they won awards-Best this and Best that and they are removing 2 characters??? I think it is going down hill for me. And with Isiah- he can only say he is sorry so many times. How many times has someone said something they shouldn't have?? Not fair at all. And not renewing a contract is basically being let go- aka - fired. Only difference: He can now collect unemployment.
